It’s been a wonder of a Bundesliga campaign with Borussia Dortmund & Bayern Munich neck and neck

It’s been a wonder of a German Bundesliga campaign with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich neck and neck after nine rounds of action. BVB have relinquished their five-point lead over the reigning champions, suffering a defeat and settling for a draw in the space of two weeks. But that is what it’s all about – expect the unexpected when it comes to the beautiful game.

Friday 27 October

16/10 Mainz | Draw 43/20 | Eintracht Frankfurt 18/10 (20:30)

Mainz fell to a 2-0 defeat last time out but return to the Opel Arena, where they have won back-to-back games. Eintracht Frankfurt have been strong on their travels with three wins from five matches and should push their opponents all the way. This one could go either way and the betting suggests that as well. However, instead of predicting the winner, looking at head-to-head stats, the last six meetings between the sides have seen Over 2.5 Goals scored in each meeting – follow the pattern and fire at 23/20.

Saturday 28 October

4/1 Hannover | 34/10 | Borussia Dortmund 11/20 (15:30)

Hannover come into the encounter with Borussia Dortmund on a bit of a high of edging Augsburg 2-1 away from home last time out. BVB will be desperate to find the winning formula once again after failing to claim maximum points for a second consecutive week – giving Bayern Munich the opportunity to tie up on points. The Yellow and Black army have won seven of the last eight meetings against Hannover and are tipped to come away with all three points here.

1/1 Hoffenheim | 11/4 | Monchengladbach 24/10 (15:30)

Hoffenheim hold the best home record in the league as they remain unbeaten on their ground with three wins and two draws from five games. Monchengladbach will be licking their wounds following their 5-1 thumping on home soil at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. There has been some massive scorelines between the sides over the last few seasons, including a 5-3 victory in favour of Hoffenheim in this very same fixture last term. I’m backing the home side to get the job done once again.

17/20 Hertha Berlin | 24/10 | Hamburg 34/10 (15:30)

Hertha Berlin are without a win in their last four matches after playing to a 1-1 draw at Freiburg last weekend. Nonetheless, they had a terrific home record last season as they went unbeaten and I feel they are bound to get back to winning ways. Hamburg find themselves in the relegation zone after nine matches with six losses, scoring just six goals and conceding 15 times. They have lost their last three travels and Hertha Berlin are tipped to utilize home advantage.

7/20 Bayer Leverkusen | 9/2 | Cologne 7/1 (15:30)

Bayer Leverkusen will be buzzing with confidence after thumping Monchengladbach 5-1 away from home. They will return to their home patch where they remain undefeated with two wins and two draws, scoring 11 goals and conceding only four times. Cologne are bottom of the standings without a win, scoring three times and conceding a colossal 17 goals. I can’t see this one going any other way but in favour of the home team. Back Bayer Leverkusen on the (-1) Handicap at 8/10.

7/10 Schalke | 26/10 | Wolfsburg 38/10 (15:30)

Schalke have been impressive of late with two wins on the bounce, scoring four goals without reply. They have won three of their five matches at home as well as the last seven meetings at the Veltins-Arena against Wolfsburg. The away team have managed just one win from nine games and are winless in their last seven matches, including six draws and one defeat. The home win looks a top bet.

7/20 Bayern Munich | 9/2 | Leipzig 6/1 (18:30)

Manager Jupp Heynckes has returned to Bayern Munich with a bang, claiming back-to-back wins to get the Bavarians back on course for yet another Bundesliga title. Bayern are unbeaten at home with three wins and a draw, scoring 14 goals and conceding just three times. Leipzig, the form team in the Bundesliga, come calling on Saturday evening. The Red Bulls have won four games on the spin, including a 3-2 victory over title-contenders Borussia Dortmund. However, I still believe Bayern will be too strong for them and I’m backing the Bavarians to Win with Both Teams to Score at 12/10.

Sunday 29 October

29/20 Werder Bremen | 47/20 | Augsburg 37/20 (15:30)

Werder Bremen will be desperate to finally get their first win of the season and will have the opportunity to do so against a wounded Augsburg side, who suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Hannover, extending their winless run to four matches. I’m expecting both sides to go all out for the win. The last seven meetings between the sides have seen both teams find the back of the net and I’m tipping that trend to continue at 7/10.

15/20 Stuttgart | 26/10 | Freiburg 7/2 (18:00)

Stuttgart are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 defeat away to Leipzig but return to home soil, where they remain unbeaten with three wins and one draw from four matches. Freiburg are winless on the road with three losses from four games, scoring just once and conceding 13 times. I’m expecting another high-scoring affair here and looking at past head-to-heads, nine of the last 10 meetings have produced Over 2.5 Goals – get on the bandwagon at 8/10.

TREBLE @ 52/10

Mainz vs Eintracht Frankfurt Over 2.5 Goals 23/20

Schalke Win 7/10

Werder Bremen vs Augsburg BTTS 7/10
