German Bundesliga: Gameweek 9 Preview

German Bundesliga: Gameweek 9 Preview

The international break seemed to be just what Bayern Munich needed after returning to winning ways last weekend following back-to-back defeats. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund continue to fire after humbling Stuttgart 4-0 in front of their own fans. Monchengladbach, Werder Bremen and the defending champions are hot on the heels so its all about maintaining that consistency. Let’s get to round nine.

Friday 26 October

Freiburg 2/1

Draw 5/2

Borussia Monchengladbach 5/4

(20:30)

We kick-start proceedings off at Schwarzwald-Stadion with Freiburg playing host to an in-form Borussia Monchengladbach team. The Foals have won back-to-back matches, scoring seven goals without conceding. Freiburg are winless in their last three matches and will be desperate to turn that form around. I just don’t see that happening. Get on the away win.

Saturday 27 October

Borussia Dortmund 9/20

Draw 37/10

Hertha Berlin 52/10

(15:30)

Borussia Dortmund remain unbeaten heading into round nine at the summit with four consecutive victories. Hertha Berlin made a bright start to the new season but has lacked a cutting edge in recent weeks. The Old Lady are without a win in their last three travels and the Black and Yellow Army will be smelling blood. Take BVB to win on the (-1) Handicap at 11/10.

Hannover 15/10

Draw 24/10

Augsburg 17/10

(15:30)

Hannover have been dismal with just one win from eight matches, while Augsburg haven’t been much better with only two victories. Consider that neither of these teams have been finding the back of the net with regularity. This one is too close to call which moves my attention to the exotic markets. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at even money.

Mainz 10/1

Draw 5/1

Bayern Munich 1/4

(15:30)

Mainz will take on Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon. The Carnival club are without a win in their last five matches and will be looking to salvage a positive result here. The Bavarians bounced back to winning ways last weekend with a 3-1 win over Wolfsburg. Bayern Munich completed the double over Mainz last season, scoring six goals without conceding. Take the away team to Score in Both Halves of the game at 15/20.

Dusseldorf 2/1

Draw 47/20

Wolfsburg 27/20

(15:30)

Newly-promoted Dusseldorf are rooted to the foot of the table with four consecutive losses, including a 7-1 belting at Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Wolfsburg are winless in their last six matches with two defeats on the bounce. You can expect a much more organised and solid performance defensively from Dusseldorf. With that being said, I’m climbing on the Totals market – Under 2.5 Goals – yet again, get on at 17/20.

Hoffenheim 6/10

Draw 33/10

Stuttgart 4/1

(18:30)

Hoffenheim ended a run of back-to-back defeats when they ousted Nuremburg 3-1 away last time out. They will be desperate to build on that as they have lost two on the bounce on home soil. Stuttgart have been poor in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches. The Reds sit second from bottom on the log, scoring just six goals while conceding 17 times and they remain winless on the road. The home win is tipped.

Sunday 28 October

Nuremburg 22/10

Draw 5/2

Eintracht Frankfurt 12/10

(14:30)

Nuremburg have been poor of late with back-to-back defeats, scoring just one goal and conceding nine times in the process. Eintracht Frankfurt have been absolutely brilliant with three wins on the spin, including a 7-1 thrashing of Dusseldorf on home soil. The Eagles have won the last three meetings away to Nuremburg and are tipped to make it four in a row. Back Eintracht Frankfurt to come away with maximum points.

Leipzig 9/10

Draw 26/10

Schalke 29/10

(16:30)

Leipzig are unbeaten in their last seven matches with four victories and will welcome Schalke to the Red Bull Arena in the penultimate game of the week. Schalke have been dismal with six losses from their last eight matches. Although form shows the hosts are much stronger coming into this contest, the Royal Blues are always capable of upsetting the applecart. However, Leipzig’s form is undeniable and they should capitalize on home advantage.

Werder Bremen 5/4

Draw 51/20

Bayer Leverkusen 2/1

(19:00)

Werder Bremen are unbeaten on their turf and have won four of their last five matches. Bayer Leverkusen can’t seem to put one foot in front of the other at the moment as they have managed just two wins from eight games. I expect another solid performance from the River-Islanders but Bayer Leverkusen on the other hand has been unpredictable. Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 11/20.
TREBLE @ 56/10

Hoffenheim Win 6/10

Eintracht Frankfurt Win 12/10

Leipzig Win 9/10
