Dortmund and Bayern Munich are neck and neck at the summit after the former dropped more points last weekend. BVB’s goal-difference is superior by just two points which makes for an interesting remaining 10 rounds of Bundesliga action. Let’s get to this weekend’s fixtures.
Standings provided by Sofascore LiveScore
Friday 8 March
Werder Bremen 1/1
Draw 5/2
Schalke 26/10
(21:30)
Werder Bremen are unbeaten in their last seven matches, including a hard-earned 1-1 draw at Wolfsburg last time out. Schalke are without a win in their last six matches with four defeats, including two on the bounce. The Royal Blues are starting to slip towards the danger zone and should be motivated to stay out of the bottom three. The Both Teams to Score – Yes – market looks a good bet at 7/10.
Saturday 9 March
Freiburg 16/10
Draw 9/4
Hertha Berlin 17/10
(16:30)
Freiburg were ousted 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen last time out but prior to that, they had smashed Augsburg 5-1 on home soil. Hertha Berlin have lacked consistency but they have shown impressive fighting spirit in recent weeks. The last five meetings at Schwarzwald-Stadion have seen both sides find the back of the net. With that being said, I’m backing Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 15/20.
Bayern Munich 1/4
Draw 5/1
Wolfsburg 19/2
(16:30)
Bayern Munich looked dead and buried halfway through the season but it goes to show that you can never write the Bavarians out. The defending champions have won four matches on the spin and look as though they still have more to offer. Wolfsburg are undefeated in their last five games and have the second-best away record in the league after Bayern Munich. Both sides are looking good at the moment which leads me to believe we can expect a goal fest. The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is tipped at 4/10.
Dortmund 7/20
Draw 4/1
Stuttgart 13/2
(16:30)
Dortmund have stumbled in recent weeks with just one win from their last five matches. However, they remain unbeaten at home with 10 wins from 12 games. Stuttgart have been dreadful on their travels with just one win from 12 matches. The corresponding fixture ended 4-0 in favour of the Yellow and Black army and another drubbing looks likely. Back BVB on the (-1) Handicap at 17/20.
Leipzig 7/20
Draw 39/10
Augsburg 13/2
(16:30)
Leipzig are unbeaten in their last six matches, including four victories. Augsburg are coming off a brilliant but hard-fought 2-1 home win over Dortmund but have lost their last three travels, scoring once and conceding 11 times. This hasn’t been a high-scoring affair in recent meetings and I’m not expecting this one to be any different. Take Both Halves Under 1.5 Goals – Yes – at 9/4!
Mainz 2/1
Draw 49/20
Monchengladbach 5/4
(19:30)
Mainz have been dismal in recent weeks with four losses from their last five matches. However, Monchengladbach haven’t been any better without a win in their last four matches, including three defeats, scoring twice and conceding 12 goals. Both sides are in desperate need of a win so an attacking game of football looks very much likely. The Totals – Over 2.5 Goals – market is there for the taking at 13/20.
Sunday 10 March
Hoffenheim 1/4
Draw 5/1
Nuremburg 17/2
(16:30)
Sunday’s opening contest will see Hoffenheim welcome Nuremburg to the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena. The hosts have managed just one win from their last five games but are expected to come out on top in this weekend’s clash. Nuremburg are rooted to the bottom of the log without a win on the road, scoring only seven goals and conceding 33 times. The Home to Win Both Halves – Yes – market looks appealing at 31/20.
Hannover 6/1
Draw 17/4
Bayer Leverkusen 4/10
(19:00)
Hannover have been dismal with three consecutive losses, scoring once and conceding 11 goals. Bayer Leverkusen have been in top form with six wins from their last eight matches but offer just 4/10 for the away win. The last three meetings have seen a combined 17 goals at an average of 5.6 per game. Get on the Both Halves Over 1.5 Goals – Yes – market at 5/2!
Monday 11 March
Dusseldorf 18/10
Draw 5/2
Eintracht Frankfurt 14/10
(21:30)
Dusseldorf have been in top form with three wins from their last four matches, including back-to-back victories. Eintracht Frankfurt are undefeated in their last seven games with two wins on the bounce. Both sides are in form and are expected to find the back of the net. Another Both Teams to Score – Yes – match looks likely at 11/20.
TREBLE @ 15/1
Dortmund (-1) Handicap 17/20
Hoffenheim To Win Both Halves 31/20
Leverkusen Both Halves Over 1.5 Goals 5/2
