Kaizer Chiefs have bolstered their recruitment efforts by appointing Thembela “Tera” Maliwa as their new Head of Scouting and Recruitment.
Maliwa brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked with Ajax Cape Town, Mamelodi Sundowns, and in the Netherlands.
A Cape Town native, Maliwa’s scouting career began with Ajax Cape Town, where he spent 11 years. He then gained international experience in the Netherlands before returning to South Africa to join Mamelodi Sundowns.
After a successful seven-year stint with the Brazilians, Maliwa is excited to take on the challenge of building a championship-caliber squad for Kaizer Chiefs.
Speaking to the club’s website, the scout said, “We all know what a big, great Club this is. I am really happy to be here,”.
“I am here to try to take the Club to another level in terms of scouting and recruitment. My plan is to identify and bring in the players that will take Amakhosi back to the glory days.”
As Head of Scouting, Maliwa will play a crucial role in identifying and acquiring top talent to strengthen the Chiefs’ squad and compete for trophies. His appointment is a significant step in the club’s ongoing efforts to enhance their performance on and off the field.
