Former Kaizer Chiefs Prospect Mdaka Signs for AmaZulu, Muzomuhle Khanyi Departs on Loan

Former Kaizer Chiefs youth product Omega Mdaka is set to reunite with Arthur Zwane at AmaZulu, having built a strong connection with him during their time together at Amakhosi.

He spent the past two seasons with Stellies, making 51 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and bagging one assist.

Part of a Stellenbosch statement read: “Stellenbosch FC has bid farewell to defender Omega Mdaka, who has completed a permanent transfer to AmaZulu FC..

“Mdaka joined the Maroons in 2024 and enjoyed a goal-scoring debut against Nsingizini Hotspurs in the CAF Confederation Cup, before going on to make 51 appearances for the Club across all competitions.

“During his spell in the Winelands, the 22-year-old helped Stellenbosch FC reach back-to-back MTN8 finals, and he was nominated for the Club’s Young Player of the Season award in 2026.

“Everyone at Stellenbosch FC thanks Omega for his contributions and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.”

Khanyi joined Stellies from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Hungry Lions last season after ending the previous campaign as top goal scorer with 18 goals.

His game-time was limited last term as he made 19 appearances, scoring just one goal.

“Stellenbosch FC can confirm that Muzomuhle Khanyi has completed a season-long loan move to Chippa United,” the club added.

“The 27-year-old will spend the 2026-27 campaign with Chippa United in the Eastern Cape after the clubs reached an agreement over a short-term loan.”
