Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has recently slammed South African clubs, saying that there are people looking to sabotage the National side. Since the Belgian took over the National side he has had to contend with various, seemingly domestic, challenges.
“Three months ago, I wanted to organise two friendly games. But suddenly there were league games in the middle of the camp which is against FIFA rules and I had to cancel my friendlies.” Broos told the media.
“I then asked a meeting with PSL coaches and it was refused. I was told it’s not possible.”
However, speaking to SBN, former AmaZulu Head Coach Ayanda Dlamini has insisted that – at least at AmaZulu – there is strong support for the National Coach and his success.
“The coach is ok to voice his frustrations if he feels teams are unwilling to support the National team, but it is unfortunate if that is the situation. We want Bafana to succeed.”
“Yes, there is rivalry, but international duty comes first. At AmaZulu we certainly support the National coach.”
The former Usuthu coach also touched on players not honouring a call-up to play for the country.
“It is disappointing and disrespectful to the country. For every player, it is the biggest moment to represent the Country.”
Orlando Pirates ace Goodman Mosele was included in the 23-man squad for the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup qualifiers, however he withdraw without any communication.
“Clubs should take steps to discipline such players. This makes the team you are playing for look bad in the community and people should question the discipline of the whole institution.”
South Africa face Ethiopia at the Bahir Dar Stadium on Saturday, before the two teams clash at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
