This is not about topping Group B anymore. That conversation belongs to Canada and Switzerland. For Bosnia and Qatar, this is about survival, third-place permutations and finding one last response before the group stage door closes.
Bosnia & Herzegovina started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Canada, a result that gave Sergej Barbarez’s side something to build on. Their second match, however, brought a painful reality check. A 4-1 defeat to Switzerland left Bosnia on one point, damaged their goal difference and made this final group match a must-win fixture.
Qatar’s tournament has followed a similar pattern, only with an even harsher second act. Julen Lopetegui’s side opened with a fighting 1-1 draw against Switzerland, but their 6-0 defeat to Canada in Vancouver completely changed the mood around their campaign. They now need to recover quickly, not only tactically, but mentally.
That makes this match simple and dangerous. A draw is unlikely to help either side, so both teams should eventually have to take risks. Bosnia have the stronger attacking reference point in Edin Dzeko and enough directness around him to trouble a shaken Qatar defence. Qatar, meanwhile, still have Akram Afif, their most important creative outlet and the player most likely to punish Bosnia if the game becomes stretched.
The storyline is clear. Bosnia look better placed to force the result, but Qatar have enough individual quality to make this uncomfortable if Bosnia become desperate too early.

Betting tips & prediction
Odds
Bosnia & Herzegovina: 9/20 | Draw: 17/5 | Qatar: 29/5
Bosnia are short enough in the outright market, but the stronger play is to pair their win with over 1.5 goals. This is a must-win fixture for both sides, and Qatar’s defensive confidence will be fragile after conceding six against Canada. Bosnia should have enough attacking structure and physical presence to force the result, while Qatar’s need to chase the game keeps the goal markets alive.
Suggested bet: Bosnia & Herzegovina win and over 1.5 – 13/20
Value angle: Double Chance Bosnia & Herzegovina/Draw and BTTS Yes – 29/10
Alternative angle: Totals Over 2.5 – 3/5
Score prediction: Bosnia & Herzegovina 2-1 Qatar – 7/1
Verdict
Both sides need a win, but Bosnia look better equipped to handle the pressure. Qatar should respond after their heavy defeat to Canada, and Afif gives them a route into the game. Still, Bosnia’s directness, physical edge and attacking focal point give them the stronger case.
In a match defined by grit and tactical discipline, Gavin Hunt’s Durban City locked horns with the co-managed Kaizer Chiefs duo, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze.

Both teams carved out opportunities in a cagey contest, but it was Flavio Silva’s late strike that ultimately broke the deadlock and proved decisive.
Chiefs started brightly, with Makabi Lilepo and Mfundo Vilakazi both testing Darren Keet early on, while City’s Mfanafuthi Mkhize fired narrowly over following a set piece.
The first half ended goalless despite half-chances at both ends, including a fine save by Keet from Vilakazi’s long-range effort just before the break.
The second half continued in similar fashion, with City pushing forward through Bokang Mokwena and Fezile Gcaba, while Chiefs gradually took control after a string of substitutions.
The introduction of Gaston Sirino added creativity, and the Uruguayan made an instant impact when his pinpoint cross found Silva in the 88th minute. The Portuguese striker rose highest to glance his header into the top corner, sending the travelling fans into raptures.
Durban City threw everything forward in the closing moments, with Letsie Koapeng forcing a fine save and Kyle Jurgens missing a late chance to equalise.
But Chiefs’ defence, marshalled by Inacio Miguel and Bradley Cross, held firm to secure a hard-fought clean sheet.
The victory lifts Chiefs to third in the standings on 19 points from 10 matches. Durban City, meanwhile, drop to fifth with 15 points from 11 games.
It was a reminder that Chiefs, despite their recent inconsistency, remain one of the Premiership’s most dangerous sides when it matters most.
