One of our regular readers, Mncedisi Mthembu, from Bergville in KZN, took his time to chat with Soccer Betting News’ Banele Pikwa about all things SBN.
Hi Mncedisi, thank you for taking the time to chat with us. How long have you been following SBN?
I started following SBN in 2015.
What made you want to buy the paper and where do you buy it?
I usually buy the paper on Field Street (Durban CBD). The reason I buy the paper is because i want to see the logs and form of the lower leagues.
What do you like most about the paper?
I like the logs and form because I only play those strange leagues like Kazakhstan, Lithuania and all those countries. That’s the only reason I buy the paper, my colleague likes previews, and I don’t follow much in those big leagues.
Why those leagues?
Well the big leagues disappoint us a lot and the odds are short, with these small leagues you get a top team at a good price. It’s important for me because I don’t stake more than R20 so that’s why I like to chase value in these small leagues.
Do you have a team that you support in those leagues?
Haha, well not exactly supporting them but I do have teams that I always bet for in those countries. I support Kaizer Chiefs and Barcelona.
You know Barcelona will be in SA to play Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday?
Yes, I heard that. I wish they were playing Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida so I can go watch.
Who’s your favourite player?
Siphiwe Tshabalala, he’s the reason I still watch Chiefs.
Would you like to give our readers your best bet for this weekend?
Haha, I’m a very superstitious person, I don’t like showing people my bets because I never win whenever I show people. But try these teams: Maritzburg United, AEK Athens, Brondby, Celtic, Atletico Madrid, Ingolstadt, Sporting, and AS Roma for R20.
Thanks a lot for your time, Mncedisi, good luck with everything.
Thanks bafo.
