ESPERANCE WON’T HOLD BACK AGAINST SUNDOWNS, SAYS ATTACKER OUSSAMA BOUGUERRA

The Tunisian club are four-time winners of the continental competition and find themselves 1-0 up from the first leg.

A 41st-minute Yan Sasse goal at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi last week separates the two teams ahead of their return leg at Loftus Versfeld on Friday.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Bouguerra said in the Citizen: “We won the first leg in Tunisia and we have come here to finish the game and God-willingly, we will try to win the game.

“We know the Sundowns team very well and we also know that we are capable of winning here.”

Bouguerra expects his side’s experience in the competion to see them through to the final.

He added: “Esperance has that tradition and culture of winning in the competition that’s why we’re here for a win.

“When you play for a big team like Esperance, you know you will play in big competitions and we need to win all the games.

“This is a big motivation for every player to play in the semi-final and qualify for the final.”
