Erik ten Hag: Leny Yoro’s injury recovery progressing quickly

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has received encouraging news regarding summer signing Leny Yoro’s recovery from a foot injury.

The 20-year-old French defender, who joined the Red Devils from Lille for £52million, suffered the injury during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal and was initially expected to be out until November.

Yoro’s injury has notably impacted Manchester United’s start to the Premier League season, with the team struggling to find form.

The club has only managed one win in their first three games, including disappointing losses to Liverpool and Brighton.

This challenging start has led to early pressure on Ten Hag as he works to turn the team’s fortunes around.

Despite these setbacks, Yoro’s rehabilitation is progressing well. He has recently begun walking without crutches and has returned to the gym, suggesting that his recovery is ahead of schedule.

“That’s part of football, that’s part of top football especially, that you come into, you go to the edge, every player has to go to the edge,” said Ten Hag, when asked about the team’s injuries.

“And yeah, then injuries are not avoidable. But of course, we have to be ready as a club and as a team to cover this and the players are dealing very well with this setback.

“They (Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund) are very positive, they are already recovering, and they will return.”
