Cape Town City forward Kermit Erasmus is pleased to be able to contribute to the team’s success, after finding the back of the net on five occasions so far this season.
The former Orlando Pirates forward revealed how consistency is one of his ultimate goals, having secured his place in coach Benni McCarthy’s side.
“I have no certain number of goals for this season, just to exceed the minimum the coach wants,” he told the media.
“I’m happy that I am scoring because that is how you are judged as a striker, by the number of goals you score.
“It’s good that the team is creating a lot of scoring opportunities for us strikers and we can only get better as the season continues and I believe the rest of the attacking force can convert the chances created.”
Having scored in City’s 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs a fortnight ago, a match which McCarthy’s side dominated for large parts, Erasmus is keen to get back to winning ways against SuperSport United on Saturday.
“United are in good form, but we are looking forward to the challenge and have prepared well for it,” Erasmus concluded.
