There’s just four EPL matches to look forward to this weekend with the FA Cup taking place. |
Gameweek 28 of the English Premier League will have just four weekend fixtures, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Middlesbrough, Manchester United and Manchester City all competing in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
There are three Premier League matches taking place on Saturday (all at 17:00pm), with just one fixture on Sunday. Saturday’s action will see Bournemouth host West Ham, West Brom travel to Everton and Hull City entertaining Swansea, while Liverpool target revenge against Burnley on Sunday.
Saturday 11 March
14/10 Bournemouth | Draw 47/20 | West Ham 18/10 (17:00)
Bournemouth will be looking to build on their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last weekend. The Cherries had Artur Boruc to thank as the Polish goalkeeper saved a 72nd-minute penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to deny Eddie Howe’s side a fifth straight league defeat. Bournemouth are only five points off the drop zone and will be desperate to get their first win in 2017. West Ham suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Chelsea on Monday night. The result extended their winless streak to three matches and Slaven Bilic will be hoping for a positive response from his players. The Hammers won the reverse tie 1-0 in August and I’m backing them on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 5/10.
6/10 Everton | 26/10 | West Brom 9/2 (17:00)
Everton became the latest team to suffer defeat at White Hart Lane as a brace from Harry Kane helped Tottenham to a 3-2 win, despite a late scare from Ronald Koeman’s side. The result ended Everton’s nine-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League. The Toffees, who have won their last four matches at Goodison Park, will be hoping to complete the double over West Brom, having won the reverse tie 2-1 at the Hawthorns. Tony Pulis’ side come into this fixture off a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against Crystal Palace, which ended their five-match unbeaten streak. A tight affair is expected, but I’m backing Everton to come out on top.
14/10 Hull City | 43/20 | Swansea 2/1 (17:00)
Hull City fell to a 3-1 defeat away at fellow strugglers Leicester City which left Marco Silva’s side four points from safety in the Premier League table. The Tigers, who are winless in three matches, will welcome the return to the KCOM Stadium where they are unbeaten in six games in all competitions, winning four times. Swansea’s revival under Paul Clement gained more momentum with a 3-2 win over Burnley – their fourth victory in six games – as Fernando Llorente headed home twice, including a 92nd-minute winner. I think we’ll be in for an open game and I can see both teams getting on the scoresheet. Back Both Teams to Score at 17/20.
Sunday 12 March
2/9 Liverpool | 5/1 | Burnley 11/1 (18:00)
Liverpool will be looking to get their revenge against Burnley on Sunday. After a thrilling 4-3 win at Arsenal in the opening game of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side were stunned by the Championship winners in a 2-0 defeat. Liverpool will be out to avenge that loss and they come into this tie high on confidence following their 3-1 win over Arsenal last Saturday. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino both scored one and created another before Georginio Wijnaldum netted in stoppage time to help the Reds leapfrog Arsenal into fourth place. Burnley, who are winless in five matches in all competitions, are yet to win away from home this season, losing 10 of their 12 matches. In that run, they’ve scored just six while shipping 25 goals. Liverpool are tipped to win on the Half-time/Full-time Double at 6/10.
QUAD @ 6/1
West Ham Win/Draw 5/10
Everton Win 6/10
Hull vs Swansea BTTS 17/20
Liverpool Win HT-FT 6/10
If you’re having a punt on the FA Cup, make sure to follow my 5/1 quad! I’m backing wins for Chelsea (at home to Man United) and Man City (away to Middlesbrough), Arsenal to Score in Both Halves (at home to Lincoln) and Tottenham (at home to Millwall) to win on the Half-time/Full-time Double.
