English Premier League: Gameweek 34 Preview

English Premier League: Gameweek 34 Preview
With not much action to speak of last weekend, the Premier League run-in continues to heat up this weekend both at the top end of the table and further down in the race for top four, with Liverpool hosting Chelsea in the headline fixture. Manchester City travel to Crystal Palace, who have been somewhat of a hoodoo team of theirs, while down in the fight for survival, Cardiff and Brighton have a massive six-pointer on Tuesday, but before that, both teams square off against Burnley and Bournemouth on the weekend.

Friday 12 April

Leicester City 7/10

Draw 28/10

Newcastle 38/10

(21:00)

Leicester City kick off the weekend with what should be an enthralling encounter with Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle side. In many ways, this could be considered the banker of the weekend, or perhaps the perfect way to end your Friday night considering the Foxes’ impressive form of four wins in a row, moving to seventh spot in the process. Newcastle, on the other hand, suffered their second consecutive defeat, losing 1-0 at home against Crystal Palace last weekend. Back the home win here and include in all multiples.

Saturday 13 April

Tottenham 1/6

Draw 13/2

Huddersfield 16/1

(13:30)

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will draw back its curtains once again as relegated Huddersfield come to town. This will be Spurs’ second game at their new stadium which will come in between their crucial UEFA Champions League tie against Manchester City. Huddersfield seem to have given up completely now and each fixture will come as a free-hit for them in the league. Just like their recent win over Crystal Palace at this stadium, back Spurs to Win to Nil here at 15/20.

Burnley 9/10

Draw 49/20

Cardiff 32/10

(16:00)

With Burnley now eight points clear of Cardiff in the relegation zone, Sean Dyche will feel that his side will have another season of playing top-flight football, unless the visitors can spring off an upset here and kick-on to do the unthinkable. Burnley moved up to 14th on the table after their 3-1 win at Bournemouth, while Cardiff will play their game in hand on Tuesday against Brighton. At 9/10, its tough to look past anything but a victory for Burnley.

Southampton 16/10

Draw 21/10

Wolves 19/10

(16:00)

Southampton will be hoping to distance themselves from the relegation spot. They currently sit one place above it with a five-point lead over Cardiff. The Saints were unlucky against Liverpool last Friday night, and in the end, their mismatch in quality just showed. Wolves were dumped out of the FA Cup semi-finals by Watford after going two goals up in the match. Up until the late stages of the game, it was an excellent performance by Wolves, but switching off in crucial moments could cost them ending off a brilliant season on a bad note. Over 2.5 Goals offers great value at 5/4, get on!

Fulham 33/10

Draw 29/10

Everton 15/20

(16:00)

Fulham will look to spoil the party for Everton and end their superb run of late, with the Toffees winning three games in a row for the first time since January 2017. In that run, Marco Silva’s men beat Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal, so they’ve shown great fight and spirit in the quest for European football next season. Fulham skipped the football action last week, but still carry that unwanted record of nine straight defeats in the league, which has seen the Cottagers relegated already. Take the away win here at 15/20.

Brighton 27/20

Draw 23/10

Bournemouth 21/10

(16:00)

Brighton will look to move further away from the relegation zone and prove a few doubters wrong in the process, with many pundits’ favourites being the hosts here as the team that Cardiff could catch up if the Welsh club are to survive. Brighton put up a solid performance against Manchester City, eventually losing 1-0 in the semi-final of the FA Cup. Bournemouth have been horrendous on the road this campaign, losing 10 of their last 11 away games, only beating Huddersfield in that run. With so much more to play for, Brighton could prove to be the hungrier team of the two, convincing me that they should come out with maximum points here.

Manchester United 9/20

Draw 38/10

West Ham 57/10

(18:30)

Manchester United will be looking to close the gap on third placed Chelsea with the Red Devils hoping to take full advantage of West Ham’s poor away form. The Hammers are winless in seven matches on the road, scoring just once in that run. The only thing that could derail United here is the fact that this tie comes in between their crucial Champions League tie against Barcelona. Still, Man United should ease through their opponents here at 9/20.

Sunday 14 April

Crystal Palace 8/1

Draw 9/2

Manchester City 3/10

(15:05)

Manchester City will be hoping to claim maximum points over Crystal Palace for the first time in three games, with the Eagles drawing this fixture last season in a game which saw Luka Milivojevic miss a penalty that game, while Palace also managed an emphatic 3-2 win at the Etihad stadium earlier in the campaign. City will be high on confidence coming into this game after moving one step closer to claiming the quadruple, edging Brighton out of the FA Cup semi-final. This fixture will also come in between their Champions League quarter-final clash against Tottenham. My money is on Both Teams to Score here at 9/10.

Liverpool 6/10

Draw 31/10

Chelsea 17/4

Monday 15 April

Watford 23/10

Draw 26/10

Arsenal 11/10

(21:00)

Watford produced one of their best displays all season to come back from two goals down over Wolves and advance to the FA Cup final. The Hornets’ never-say-die attitude along with a few moments of magic, most notably by Gerard Deulofeu. Arsenal crumbled away from home yet again as they produced a shocking display at Everton, losing 1-0. Unai Emery showed in his line-up that the UEFA Europa League is top priority by benching a few of his stars, while the Gunners will have the second leg of their clash with Napoli to worry about. Watford are a great value bet to include in all multiples at 23/10.

Tuesday 16 April

Brighton 17/20

Draw 47/20

Cardiff 37/10

(20:45)

Brighton will hope to be in a more comfortable position by the time they play Cardiff, meaning defeat for the visitors here could set them back big time in their fight for survival. The last time these sides played in the league, it became quite the cagey affair with Lewis Dunk receiving his marching orders in the game, while Cardiff snuck in a late winner to edge a 2-1 victory. At this point of the season, the term ‘six-pointer’ couldn’t be more relevant. I’d still fancy Brighton here to make home advantage count – get on at 17/20.
TREBLE @ 9/1

Leicester City Win 7/10

Tottenham Win to Nil 15/20

Watford Win 23/10
