Magesi captain Elvis Chipezeze is hopeful the struggling Betway Premiership club’s form will improve in January.
The newly-promoted side are bottom of the league standings with just one win from their opening 10 games.
They did manage to overcome the odds by beating leaders Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the Carling Knockout Cup, but have since lost head coach Clinton Larsen.
Owen da Gama has since been named the new coach of the club.
Chipezeze says he is not too concerned with his side’s form as they also struggled at this time of the season last year.
He said on FARPost: “Well, it’s just a phase. In football, you have the highs and lows. I also remember last season when we were still competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship when we got to December, we struggled in some games.
“For me, I feel like maybe history is repeating itself. After the December games, which I don’t know if I could call it a curse or not, when we started our games in January, things began to fall into place.
“So, we just have to make sure that we work even more harder so that we can move out of the position that we are in right now.”
Magesi are next in action away to TS Galaxy on Saturday 4 January.
