DStv PREMIERSHIP: AMAZULU DON’T FEAR MAMELODI SUNDOWNS, SAYS COACH MARTIN

AmaZulu coach Pablo Franco Martin is anticipating an upset when his side takes on Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening.

AmaZulu coach Pablo Franco Martin is anticipating an upset when his side takes on Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening.

While the Brazilians are runaway leaders at the top of the standings with 39 points, Franco’s side are down in 10th with 22 points.

The last time these two sides faced each other, Sundowns ran out narrow 1-0 winners with Lucas Ribeiro on target from a 21st minute penalty, while Usuthu had a goal disallowed.

Speaking ahead of the midweek tie, Martin said in the Sowetan: “I’m not worried at all. I know it is going to be a tough game. We are underdogs and everyone is expecting us to lose that game.

“But also, everyone was expecting us to lose when we were playing here in the same stadium. They came here and played their best team, they beat us, but we scored a goal, which was disallowed and some of the things we could not control.

“We could have won that game and now we would have been the first and only team to have beaten them so far this season in the league.”
