Amakhosi confirmed the departure of their entire backroom staff that arrived with Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi two seasons ago, including Kaze, co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef, strength and conditioning coach Majdi Safi and goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi.

The exits come at a time when Chiefs finally appeared to be moving in the right direction after several difficult campaigns.

The Soweto giants secured a third-place finish in the Betway Premiership and qualified for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup — a significant improvement compared to previous seasons where they finished outside the top eight and far off the pace in the title race.

Beyond the league position, the numbers also reflected progress, with Chiefs collecting more points, conceding fewer goals and suffering fewer defeats than in recent campaigns.

However, despite the upward trajectory, the club opted for a fresh start ahead of the new season.

Speaking during an interview with Robert Marawa on MSW, Kaze admitted the decision both surprised and did not surprise him at the same time.

“Not really, it didn’t take me by surprise, but a little bit. I feel like there were discussions that seemed to not go in a converging way but that’s the world of football,” he said

“But I’m sure that everyone — because there were two parties that agreed to part ways — has weighed their options and the purpose of what’s coming next.”

Despite his departure, the Burundian tactician insisted he leaves Naturena with gratitude rather than bitterness.

“I don’t hold any grudge at all. I’m very grateful and thankful to the institution,” he added.
