DARREN KEET CONFIDENT THAT CAPE TOWN CITY CAN SHOCK ORLANDO PIRATES

Cape Town City FC goalkeeper Darren Keet has emphasised his team’s determination to secure a strong advantage in the MTN8 Cup semifinal against Orlando Pirates.

The first leg will be held at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday evening at 19h00.

City, who edged Polokwane 1-0 in their quarter-final encounter three weeks ago, are focused on delivering a solid performance at home.

“Our main objective is to score a couple of goals and ensure we keep a clean sheet before heading to Orlando for the second leg,” Keet stated.

“Playing at home gives us an opportunity to build a strong foundation.”

Despite the formidable challenge posed by the defending champions, Keet is confident in his team’s capabilities.

“It’s always a tough task against Pirates, but we are prepared. Our defence is stable, and our team is well-rounded,” he added.

Keet also dismissed the need for extra motivation, highlighting that the significance of the semifinal itself is incentive enough.

“The game’s magnitude provides all the motivation we need,” he said. “With a solid squad, including experienced players like Fortune Makaringe, Haashim Domingo, and Kamohelo Mokotjo, we’re eager for the challenge and ready to give it our all.”

City’s solid preparation and strong squad mean they are well-equipped for the upcoming clash, setting the stage for an exciting semifinal battle.
