Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he would love to see his side triumph at Euro 2016 after they became the first team to advance to the semi-finals.

Portugal were pushed to their limits in their quarter-final clash with Poland as a penalty shootout was required the match ended as a 1-1 draw.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for Poland just two minutes in before Renato Sanches scored the equaliser for Portugal in the 33rd minute.

With neither side able to break the deadlock, it came down to penalties and Jakub Blaszczykowski’s miss proved costly for Poland as they were ultimately eliminated from the tournament.

With Portugal just two games away from Euro 2016 glory, Ronaldo already has his eyes on the prize.

“It is a dream. As I’ve always said and I don’t hide, it is a dream to me winning a title with the national team,” he said. “We are on the right track and I hope the time has come.”

In the semi-finals, Portugal will either go up against Wales or Belgium, but when asked which team he would rather face, Ronaldo insisted that both teams pose a major threat.

“They are teams who reach the quarter-finals playing well,” the 31-year-old said. “Wales has surprised the tournament, so has Iceland, and Belgium has showed during the last years that they are an excellent team.”
