Usually it’s the winner of the League and FA Cup – not so much when there is a treble winning side involved, but be that as it may, it’s the FA Community Shield.To WinArsenal 34/10Draw 3/1Manchester City 15/20 ArsenalArsenal will have to know that the eyes of the word will likely follow them for most of this season – especially after their fantastic performances last time out. I think Mikel Arteta will know that the fact that they are involved with European duty this year adds a layer of difficulty to their season…but it is a challenge they surely want.Declan Rice is probably the signing of the season (individually) just because of how much Arsenal need a player like him. Personally, I am excited to see him on a bigger stage, with a little more pressure but also a little singlehanded expectation.Arsenal will have to go for it here, take the game to City and ask questions of their midfield strength. I think the game is won or lost there, and Arsenal will know they can match their opponents on that front.Manchester CityMuch of the same for City then? I know we say this every year, but City continue to live up to the mountain of expectation piled on them each season. Once again Pep Guardiola has been shrewd and tactical in the market and brought in players which (of course) improve the side but more importantly are required for City’s competitive edge.There a few names leaving the Etihad through this window, but I have no doubt that this City side will be among the best in the world. This is a cup they have won on enough occasions, but I suspect they use it as a chance to lay down the gauntlet to the rest of the league and give themselves a platform from which to launch their season.City won’t change their approach, and if they manage to boss the ball – I don’t see how they lose.Predicted Line-up:Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Magalhaes, Timber, Havertz, Partey, Odegaard, Saka, Jesus, Trossard.Manchester United: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Stones, Rodri, Siva, Alvarez, Foden, Grealish, Haaland.Prediction: Man City + Over 2.5 goals (15/10)This should be an exciting fixture, both sides have quality, depth and big-name players! They will both want to get off to a flyer before the season kicks off and I cannot wait for it!City win it for me, they are just too complete a squad with everything you need to win a once off game!
