Collins Makgaka admits he joined Baroka for a fresh start after disappointing spells with both Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United.
The 28-year-old midfielder joined the Buccaneers from Bakgaga in 2020 but failed to establish himself in the first team.
Makgaka played just 24 times for Bucs over three years, scoring two goals and creating two.
He moved to Babina Noko last term and featured just three times and now hopes to reestablish himself back in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Makgaka was one of 11 new signings unveiled by Baroka ahead of their new season.
Reflecting on his time at Bucs, the player told FARPost: “Some of the things I don’t know why they were happening. But yeah they were happening.
“My stay at Pirates was okay, I was just lacking game time and that was the only thing. No [there was nothing I could have done better], there was nothing.”
Makgaka added that he didn’t try and determine the reason for his lack of minutes.
“No, I hardly do that because it’s like I am putting pressure on the coach that he should play me,” he explained.
“Some coaches take it personally and some accept it when you ask them what to do to improve. But others obviously make it difficult and it’s like you are challenging them. So, I have never done that.
“I was disappointed and on the other hand, I felt like I wanted to move away and get game time and confidence back. It was hard for me. I played less than 30 games in the past three years and it’s something that you don’t want to experience as a player.”
