Cape Town City dropped more points in their race for a CAF finish with a 2-2 draw away to Polokwane City.
The Citizens have been struggling to win games all year and found themselves a goal down at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium after just eight minutes.
Mokibelo Ramabu opened the scoring, but City were back in the tie when Thabiso Kutumela levelled on the stroke of half-time.
Khanyisa Mayo then put the visitors ahead with his goal two minutes after the break, only for Rise and Shine to claim a share of the spoils when Given Mashikinya found the target with 63 minutes on the clock.
The result left City in eighth place on the DStv Premiership standings with 34 points from 24 games – six points adrift of Orlando Pirates in third place.
Polokwane, meanwhile, moved onto 30 points in 11th position.
Elsewhere, Stellenbosch maintained their epic unbeaten with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over TS Galaxy on Sunday.
Lehlohonolo Mojela opened the scoring for Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on 41 minutes. But goals from Fawaaz Basadien (53′) and Andre de Jong (61′) saw Stellies claim the win to move three points clear of Pirates in second place.
The Cape winelands club are now unbeaten in 16 games, while the Rockets’ four-match unbeaten run came to an end to leave them in sixth place with 34 points from 22 games.
