Magesi shocked Richards Bay 1-0 in their semi-final to reach the final of the Carling Knockout Cup.
Dikwena tša Meetse shot stopper Elvis Chipezeze expressed his gratitude to the club’s fans after being named Man of the Match in their semi-final victory over Richards Bay.
The newly-promoted side has defied expectations in the Carling Knockout Cup, stunning Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy, and Richards Bay to reach the final.
Chipezeze played a crucial role in these victories and was delighted to receive the Man of the Match award. Chipezeze told SABC Sport after the game: “Thanks to the supporters who voted for me. They came all the way from Limpopo.
“I just want to make them happy. When they are happy, I am happy. They use their hearts and money to come and watch us play.”
The goalkeeper added: “It is all part of the game, especially in our position.
“It comes with learning. I made a lot of mistakes and I tried to sit down with myself and analyse where I can improve. Credit to the boys, we worked hard.”
Magesi will face Mamelodi Sundowns FC in the final on Saturday, November 23rd at the Free State Stadium.
