The ever growing Chinese Super League continues this weekend with matchday 17 offering a full set fixtures, giving us the opportunity to make some cash before the football season returns in August. Besides the overpaid, big name players raking in the cash, perhaps we can do the same and profit off this money driven league. All the action will resume on Friday evening so let’s cut out the chit chat and get to it!

Friday 14 July

19/10 Tianjin Teda | Draw 47/20 | Jiangsu Shuntian 13/10 (13:45)

Goals from Diego Tardelli and Jin Jingdao of Shandong Luneng were enough to beat Tianjin Teda 2-0 last weekend, while Jiangsu Shuntian drew 2-2 against Shanghai Shenhua. The home side are placed 13th on the table, just three points off their opponents, who lie second from bottom on the log. Both teams will be desperate to change their current form but with neither side showing any fighting spirit, a dull encounter is expected. As such, the Under 2.5 Goals market is there for the taking at 8/10!

Saturday 15 July

57/10 Yanbian | 7/2 | Shanghai SIPG 4/10 (09:30)

Shanghai SIPG, a star-studded team brimming with Brazilians, was humbled this past weekend as Changchun Yatai beat them 4-2. Yanbian are placed rock bottom on the log and their woes continued as they suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Chongqing Lifan. The hosts have suffered four losses from their past five matches, including three on the spin. The Baekdu Tiger have to muster up some winning performances to dig themselves out of their current hole. Shanghai SIPG shouldn’t have a problem taking this match and will want to make amends for their loss to Changchun Yatai. The away win should be backed.

7/10 Beijing Guoan | 5/2 | Guizhou Zhicheng 39/10 (13:35)

Beijing Guoan ousted the log-leaders Guangzhou Evergrande 2-0 in their previous outing. A brace from Spaniard, Jonathan Soriano, was enough to claim victory. Soriano scored in the first minute and the 51st of the match, giving his team the necessary momentum to claim a much-needed three points. Guizhou Zhicheng’s 18th-minute penalty scored by Croation Jelavic was the only goal scored in their encounter against Liaoning, sealing Guizhou’s first win in their last five matches. Beijing Guoan against Guizhou Zhicheng makes for an interesting encounter as both teams are unbeaten in their last four matches with two wins and two draws. A stalemate is on the cards.

6/10 Guangzhou Evergrande | 28/10 | Shandong Luneng 7/4 (13:35)

Log-leaders Guangzhou Evergrande shockingly went down 2-0 to Beijing Guoan Evergrande last time out. Evergrande will now face the in-form Shandong Luneng. Key players for Shandong include centre forwards Diego Tardelli and Papiss Cisse. The home side have suffered two consecutive losses and will have to up their game this coming weekend against Shandong Luneng. However, Evergrande are tipped to maintain their unbeaten home record with another victory.

11/20 Hebei | 26/10 | Chongqing Lifan 52/10 (13:35)

Hebei were outdone by an own goal they conceded in the 11th minute, as they lost 3-2 to Henan Jianye. Ezequiel Lavezzi scored twice in the second half for Hebei but that wasn’t enough as Hena Jianye claimed the win. Chongqing Lifan’s goals from Fernandinho, Alan Kardec and Song Nan, saw them breeze past their opponents, Yanbian, with a 4-0 victory. Hebei sit third on the standings and Chongqing Lifan are placed eighth. However, the latter have had a better run of form, going five matches without defeat. Get on the away win!

37/20 Liaoning | 24/10 | Henan Jianye 13/10 (13:35)

Liaoning’s 1-0 loss to Guizhou Zhicheng, saw them edge closer to the relegation segment of the standings. They have lost five on the spin and are in need of a divine intervention to claw themselves back up the standings. Henan Jianye’s Cameroonian striker, Christian Bassogog, netted a brace as his team triumphed 3-2 over Hebei. The Red Devils are unbeaten in the last six meetings against Liaoning and are tipped to come out on top.

Sunday 16 July

17/10 Changchun Yatai | 47/20 | Guangzhou R&F 14/10 (09:30)

Changchun Yatai put four past Shangai SIPG last time out to win 4-2, while Guangzhou R&F went down 2-1 to Tianjin Quanjian. The home side are unbeaten in their last five matches with three wins and will be determined to build on that. Guangzhou, on the other hand, have suffered back-to-back defeats. They managed to win the reverse leg 1-0 but Changchun Yatai are tipped to capitalise on home advantage.

23/20 Tianjin Quanjian | 47/20 | Shanghai Shenhua 22/10 (13:35)

Tianjin Quanjian’s Sun Ke’s 25-minute and Axel Witsel’s 90-minute goals meant a much-needed 2-1 win for Tianjin Quanjian. Shanghai Shenhua’s 82nd and injury time goal by Colombian Giovanni Moreno weren’t enough as both teams were all square at 2-2 at the final whistle. Tianjin have a decent home record and are tipped to build on their record.

TREBLE @ 3/1

Beijing Guoan Win 7/10

Shanghai SIPG Win 4/10

Guangzhou Evergrande 6/10
