Braga forward Kobamelo Kodisang’s agent has confirmed there are talks taking place with Kaizer Chiefs over a possible transfer for his client.
Kodisang burst onto the scene at just 15 when he debuted for Platinum Stars and has spent the last couple of seasons in Portugal after joining from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2019.
Kodisang’s agent Mike Makaab is concerned that the 22-year-old’s career is stalling as he is not regarded as good enough to be in the first-team squad by Braga. Hence the push for a loan move to Chiefs. However, Braga appears unwilling to let the South African youth international leave.
“We have made it clear to them that if they don’t see him as a member of their first team squad then we want to secure a loan move for him or a permanent transfer, is it possible for him to come back to South Africa? Yes, it is – Have we been speaking to Kaizer Chiefs? Yes, we have,” he said.
“I have a fantastic relationship with the club and for the club’s supporters to think otherwise is ridiculous to me. We are working on a deal for KK and Chiefs are the only South African club we’re in discussion with. We hope to find a resolution for KK’s future in the next few weeks and we have been discussing that with Chiefs.”
