Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Leonardo Castro has returned home to Colombia with his clearance after AmaKhosi decided not to renew his contract at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old Colombian spent four and a half years at Chiefs after being signed in January 2018 from Mamelodi Sundowns.
He struggled at times at Chiefs with injuries but during his time at the club contributed with 29 goals.
In an interview with KickOff.com, Castro’s business manager Baber Siddique confirmed that Castro was back home in Colombia for now.
“Though Leo has options in Colombia and Bolivia there is also another possibility in the PSL, and talks are ongoing with the relevant people.
“What is certain is that Leo will be playing football again because he is fit and ready to go again.
“He is now back home in Colombia,” Siddique tells KickOff.com.
Castro, who has played before in Colombia for Millanarios, Deportivo Pereira, Rionegro Aguilas and La Equidad, plus in Bolivia, he is highly thought of by former side Club Universitario de Sucre.
Castro previously told KickOff.com that he would like to continue his football career closer to home if possible.
