Daniel Cardoso says his Kaizer Chiefs teammates want to win the Nedbank Cup to reward their supporters after a drought of three seasons.
Amakhosi host Free State Stars in the semi-finals at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening where a win over Ea Lla Koto would take them a step closer to their first major trophy under the mentorship of Steve Komphela.
Cardoso said they are aware that Stars will be looking for revenge having recently beaten them in a Premiership match.
However, the defender who made a name himself donning the red and white colours of Ea Lla Koto, is adamant they will overcome a tough test on Saturday to go all the way and lift the Nedbank Cup trophy.
Cardoso told SuperSport: “We are grateful to always have such a crowd in our matches, but we need to start winning trophies.
“We want to do it for the crowd, our supporters.
“Obviously, we have one over Stars, we beat them two weeks ago in the league and they will want revenge.
“We do not want to do it for just our coach, but the club has not won anything for three seasons and for our supporters.
“That’s the biggest one we owe to. So, I’m pretty confident we are going to go on and win the Nedbank Cup.”
