Arsenal face an anxious build-up to Saturday’s EPL fixture against Nottingham Forest as a series of injuries cast doubt over the availability of key players.
Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard were absent from Thursday’s training session, adding to concerns surrounding their fitness.
Saka, who sustained a knock in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, had to pull out of the England squad during the international break.
His injury has raised questions about his participation in the weekend’s match.
Trossard, who missed Belgium’s Nations League clash with Israel due to a knock, was also absent, with his condition now under scrutiny.
Manager Mikel Arteta expressed his concern over the mounting injury list, particularly the fitness of Saka and Declan Rice.
“It doesn’t look good because two players of that importance tell you that they cannot continue in the game, so it obviously isn’t good news.”
Rice, sidelined by a toe injury, missed international duty and is now a doubt for Saturday’s encounter, though the injury is believed to be minor.
Arsenal will also be without Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu, who have both been ruled out until December with injuries.
Riccardo Calafiori is another potential absentee, nursing a knee injury from the recent Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
