Orlando Pirates have parted ways with Senegal-born midfielder Issa Sarr after a four year spell at the club.
Sarr first arrived in South Africa when he joined Chippa United in 2012, and after a season at the Chilli Boys, he headed up to Rustenburg to play for Platinum Stars, where he sufficiently impressed to earn a dream move to Pirates.
He went on to win MTN8 and Telkom Knockout winners’ medals with Bucs and was also involved in their run to the final of the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup.
The 31-year-old will however no longer be turning out for the Sea Robbers after Pirates confirmed his departure this week.
“Following four wonderful seasons, midfielder Issa Sarr has left Orlando Pirates Football Club,” read a statement on their website.

“Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation of Sarr during his stay at the Club. This is a player who – at all times – displayed high levels of professionalism and discipline.
“The Club will remain forever grateful for his contribution and wish him nothing but the very best in his future endeavours.”
Sarr meanwhile took to Twitter to post a heartfelt farewell to the club and fans.
“The Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has been brilliant for me. The fans have supported me through the good times and the bad. They have always [sung] my name and pushed me on, it means everything. Thank you will never be enough.”
