Mamelodi Sundowns continued to bolster their squad ahead of the start of the 2024/2025 season by signing South African right winger Kobamelo Kodisang from Portuguese side Moreirense.
The 24-year-old was an integral part of Moreirense having been featured in 31 matches where he scored one goal and provided three assists last season.
Kobamelo will be tied to the Brazilians for the next five seasons. We look to see if he will add value to the already star-studded Pretoria side that will be participating in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
24-year-old left South African shores at just 18 to join Portuguese giants Braga from Bidvest Wits. A product of the Platinum Stars youth academy, Kodisang playing in Braga’s reserve side for three years before settling down at Moreirense.
He then signed for Moreirense for where he made 69 appearances – scoring 14 times and making eight assists.
Kodisang has now returned to South Africa with the Brazilians on a five-year-deal
“Mamelodi Sundowns is a great team, ambitious, and always aiming for the top,” said Kodisang.
He made his professional debut at Platinum Stars at the age of 15 in the 2015/16 season – making him the third-youngest to do so in PSL history.
