Brazilian Serie A: Gameweek 10 Preview

While the leagues built under the spotlight take some rest and recuperation, the passion filled Brazilian Serie A starts to heat up. Value on top of value is available for the punters so grab your coffee and a snack because the early hours of the morning off-season bank roll begins in Brazil’s finest.

Saturday 4 June

America MG 17/20
Draw 39/10
Cuiaba MT 34/10
(21:30)
America’s 33-year-old Aloisio opened his account for the 2022 campaign with a goal against Botafogo – as well as registering his first assist. A week later, he got on the scoresheet again and is proving to be a reliable focal point upfront. But defensively the home side need more solidarity. Despite back-to-back draws for America, I do believe a victory at home over Cuiaba is on the cards. The away side is winless in five, but has scored in four of those five. A home win and Both Teams To Score (Yes) is tipped at 39/10.

Sunday 5 June

Ceara 17/20
Draw 2/1
Coritiba 32/10
(00:00)
Sunday’s first fixture sees fourth-placed Coritiba, yet to find back-to-back wins, travel to a team holding the longest winless streak heading into matchday nine. While Ceara opened the season with a 3-2 win against Palmeiras, the three-match slump was overturned when drawing against three Brazilian giants in Flamengo, Santos and Sao Paulo. Back the draw here.

Atletico PR 19/20
Draw 19/10
Santos 29/10
(00:00)
This is the banker of the gameweek, with Atletico PR riding a four-match winning streak across all competitions. You might look at the name Santos and think ‘how can I back against such giants?’, but Peixe Alvinegro have failed to score in their last three league fixtures. Last season a 10th-placed finish has shown the cycle that Santos is currently going through. The home team’s form and desire to get one over Santos will come through flying.

Atletico GO 2/1
Draw 7/4
Corinthians 27/20
(01:30)

Corinthians have had a splendid start to the season bar their 3-0 loss to current first-placed Palmeiras. Yet, the away side sit on 15 points in third, tied with second and first. Atletico GO sit at the foot of the table, but when playing at home, they have the resounding push to be better. Corinthians on the draw no bet here is my play at 13/20.

Juventude 37/20
Draw 7/4
Fluminense 15/10
(16:00)

A win for Juventude could see them one point shy of Fluminense who sit 11th on the table. Juventude barely stayed afloat last season and the start to this campaign has seen them win one game of their nine to date. After picking up their first back-to-back wins of the season, Flamengo put the excitement to end last time out, and proceedings got heated with the 90th minute seeing David Braz picking up a red card. Fluminense will, however, bounce back with three points on the road.

Flamengo 5/10
Draw 26/10
Fortaleza 52/10
(21:00)
Flamengo play the bottom-of-the-barrel Fortaleza who have drawn three and lost six. After two one-goal losses on the bounce, Flamengo have turned a corner with two wins and a draw. Starting quickly out the blocks has been a trend for Flamengo, with seven of their last 10 goals coming in the first half. Half-time win for Flamengo at 21/20 is one for the multiples.

Palmeiras 5/4
Draw 39/20
Atletico MG 2/1
(21:00)
First-placed Palmeiras welcomes second-place Atletico MG to the Venue Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo. Whoever leaves the victor at the end of 90 minutes will top the Brazilian Serie A. Palmeiras have been in stellar form, undefeated in their last 14 fixtures across all competitions, conceding just one goal in their last five fixtures. Meanwhile, Atletico have recently picked up a loss to America Mineiro, but back-to-back wins over Atletico GO and Avai should see them carrying extra confidence. I’m siding with the home team here and Both Teams To Score (Yes) at 32/10 for value.
