Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter is confident that Collins Mbesuma will have an impact at the DStv Premiership club.
The former Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Portsmouth forward joined Sekhukhune as striker coach earlier this season.
In the current campaign, the club have managed just three wins from nine league games, scoring eight goals while conceding eight.
But Truter believes it won’t be long before Mbesuma, who still holds the record of 25 league goals in one season, for Amakhosi, will see his efforts pay off.
Truter said in the Sowetan: “Here and there we can improve. We are struggling in the last third and we are not scoring goals, that’s why we brought him [Mbesuma] in.
“He’s fantastic on and off the pitch. The work he’s putting in, training these boys is amazing. He also gives a lot of motivation and hopes his work will yield positive results.”
Truter added: “Of course I’d like to see us scoring more goals as we have Mbesuma as our strikers’ coach. He challenges these boys to break his record. I am really very optimistic that the job he’s doing for us will be seen very soon.”
