Ahead of the game, Truter admitted that his side is eager to see how far they can go in the competition.
He said on IOL: “The chairman made it clear for us that if there’s any possibility of a cup, then he would like a trophy this season – and the Carling Cup represents that opportunity.
“The Carling Cup is the first one of the seasons, so once you’re in a cup, you need to be in it to win it, and that’s what we’re doing.
“The pressure that comes with that, alongside the pressure of being the only KZN team remaining, is also an opportunity for growth. We’re a young team mixed with mature heads, so all of this pressure, we welcome it.”
Tinkler added on SuperSport: “Let’s not look at the past but focus on the future – the focus turns to this game against Richards Bay.
“Our target and objective from the beginning of the season was in the league to again try and finish in the top four.
“We would like to bring a trophy back to Cape Town. It has been a while now since we last won a trophy, and that target was set at the beginning of the season.”
