Baroka have unveiled 13 new players in a bid to make a return to top-flight football.
Bakgaga were relegated from the DStv Premiership in the 2021/22 season.
They ended last season in a disappointing ninth place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele is eager to secure automatic promotion this time around, saying he has invested everything into his team.
Joining the club are Putco Khoza (SuperSport United), Keyarabiloe Mphahlele (Baroka development), Lehlogonolo Melkyn [Highlands Park], Tshenzhelani Radzhadzhi [Pretoria Athletic], Tumelo MMakgolane [Mamelodi Sundowns), Siyabonga Mthombeni (Middelburg Mpumalanga), Rebone Ntsoane (Polokwane City), Matome Mathiane (Chippa United), Khomotso Lekoloane (Polokwane City), Kagiso Selemela (Magesi FC), Tshepo Mofokeng (Orlando Pirates), Morapedi Makhene [Highlands Park) and Boalefa Pule (SuperSport United).
Mphahlele explained on iDiski Times: “Definitely [our target is] automatic promotion. We don’t want any position except number one.
“We’ve put everything, the team, the players, the technical team and the facility. They’ve got everything they must just give us number one.
“The last season, I wish I could delete it out of my mind. It was a waste of time and a waste of our energy because we signed blindly but this year we made sure that the ones we signed we all agreed. It was not a one man show, it was all of us.”
Baroka started their new season with a 2-1 defeat to Magesi FC on Sunday.
