Coach Desiree Ellis has selected South Africa’s squad that will be heading to Nigeria for the inaugural edition of the Aisha Buhari Cup (invitational tournament) set to be held in Lagos from the 13th to the 21st of September.
Six teams will be split into two groups where South Africa find themselves up against Cameroon and Ghana in Group B, seeing Africa’s second, third (South Africa) and fourth-ranked teams pitting their skills against each other.
South Africa will lock horns with Cameroon on Wednesday 15 September, then take on Ghana’s Black Stars two days later.
The hosts, Nigeria, also the top-ranked team on the continent, will get proceedings underway in the opener against Morocco on the 13th of September in a Group A clash, which also includes Mali.
All roads lead to the final, set to played on the 21st September.
