Bandile Shandu Nears Durban City Move After Orlando Pirates Exit

The 31-year-old has parted ways with Orlando Pirates after limited playing opportunities during their treble-winning campaign under Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

Shandu made 110 appearances for AmaBhakaniya after joining them from Maritizburg United [now Durban City], scoring 11 goals while providing five assists.

“For Bandile Shandu, we are close to concluding a deal with Durban City,” said Makaab to FARPost.

“Talks are at an advanced stage, and we are hoping to finalise everything during the course of this week.”

The club recently announced nine exits from the squad that competed in the 2025/26 campaign, while winning their first Nedbank Cup title and are expected to make announcements of new arrivals soon.
