Bafana Bafana will play Madagascar in a friendly international at the Orlando stadium on Saturday after their game against Zambia was cancelled.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) pulled out of the game with South Africa after a fresh wave of Xenophobic attacks in Pretoria and Gauteng, with foreign nationals being targeted by rioters.

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) regrets to inform members of the public that the international friendly match between Zambia and South Africa that was scheduled for National Heroes Stadium on Saturday, 7 September 2019 has been called off in view of the prevailing security concerns in South Africa,” FAZ said in an official statement.

After the match against was called off late on Tuesday, the South Africa Football Association (SAFA) said they were working on getting another opponent.

A statement on the Bafana Bafana twitter account on Wednesday said a fixture has been confirmed with the Malagasy Football Federation for a match to be played at the Orlando stadium on Saturday.

The game will see Molefi Ntseki take charge of Bafana Bafana for the first time since being appointed as the permanent head coach of the national side.

Kick off will be at 19:00.
