Bafana Bafana Suffer Injury Blow Ahead of AFCON Qualifier

South African winger Mihlali Mayambela has been ruled out of the upcoming qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan due to an injury sustained while playing for his Cypriot club Aris Limassol.

This setback comes as a blow to Bafana Bafana, who are on the cusp of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Coach Hugo Broos confirmed the news alongside team manager Vincent Tseka to www.safa.net, revealing that Mayambela, who made the final 23-man squad, will be replaced by Devin Titus from Stellenbosch FC.

The Bafana Bafana squad assembles today, Monday, November 11th, and will immediately begin preparations for the crucial away match against Uganda on Friday. They will travel by charter on Thursday morning and return to South Africa on Saturday, November 16th, before shifting focus to the home game against South Sudan on November 19th at DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
