Villa let me down dearly at Stoke, but such is the inconsistency of this side at present, that they just aren’t worth betting on.
Hopefully a return to Villa Park will bring about a change in fortunes, but with five losses already on their home turf this season, I wouldn’t be too sure about it.
It will be former Stoke City manager Tony Pulis and his new club for them on Thursday, in what should be a closely fought match.
Pulis has injected some impetus into their fight for survival, although a loss to Newcastle over the weekend has set them back a bit.
