English Premier League | Wednesday February 12 | Emirates Stadium | 21:45

To Win (90mins)

Arsenal 11/10

Draw 24/10

Man United 27/10

ARSENAL

Arsenal currently sit second on the Premier League table one point behind Chelsea and one ahead of Manchester City.

United who came out with a disappointing draw at home against Fulham will be looking to do a double and dent the title hopes of The Gunners.

Both sides come in to the fixture on the back of disappointing results but the hosts will be under scrutiny after the 5-1 thumping at the hands of a rampant Liverpool side.

As good as United are up front, they do look less than convincing at the back, and given the talent and quality Arsenal have you feel this could be the key factor.

Arsenal fans will be pleased to have Jack Wilshere on the pitch after the midfielder made a return in Saturday’s match.

The Englishman could prove influential as he will look to dominate a frail looking Manchester United midfield.

Arsene Wenger will likely make some changes to the side and reshuffle some players after their loss last time out.

Wenger may call upon the experienced duo of Tomas Rosicky and Lukas Podolski after some key players disappointed on the weekend.

The Gunners will be without the services of Mathieu Flamini as he serves his final of a three-match suspension.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United fell further behind in the race for the Premier League’s top four after a dramatic 2-2 draw at home to bottom club Fulham on Sunday at Old Trafford.

United dominated every statistical category, holding 75 per cent of possession and taking an astounding 81 crosses.

But Fulham scored with two of their three shots on target and proved deadly in their rare forays into the attacking third.

The result leaves United in seventh place with 41 points, 14 behind their opponents Arsenal who sit comfortably in second place.

David Moyes’ men will once again rely on the attacking trio of Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and former Arsenal hitman Robin van Persie who has already haunted Arsenal this campaign by scoring the only goal of the game in the reverse fixture.

Mata seemed to give the club a bit of a lift when he arrived at Old Trafford, and has showcased his qualities in flashes during his three games so far handing three assists.

As Arsenal may set up to try and be as solid as possible at The Emirates, Mata may be the man to unlock the door.

Van Persie has looked in pretty decent form since his return from injury, having scored in his last three appearances.

The Dutchman will no doubt pose a threat as he will relish getting another goal against his former employees.

Per Mertesacker will need to stay close to his opponent in this one, as one step of separation could provide Van Persie with all the acceleration room he needs to break loose.

Winger Nani is still sidelined with a hamstring injury, but there is a chance that Rio Ferdinand could return from a knee injury – whilst Marouane Fellani could be available for selection after a wrist injury.

Betting Prediction: ARSENAL 11/10

Both sides will be looking to bounce back after dropping important points in the last game and with the hammering that Arsenal had in their previous game, the Gunners will look to come out stronger and they might not get a better chance than this to beat Manchester United who have been struggling for consistency. A hard fought win is predicted for the home side.
