Argentine Primera División side, Club Atlético Talleres, has strengthened its attacking options by securing the services of Matías Esquivel on a one-year loan deal from South African powerhouse, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 25-year-old Argentine forward returns to the Córdoba-based club in a bid to gain more regular playing time and contribute to Talleres’ ambitions in the upcoming season.
Esquivel’s first stint with CA Talleres was in 2022. He played 31 matches in all competitions, scoring six goals before moving to Club Atletico Lanus.
Esquivel, who only recently joined Sundowns in January from Club Atlético Lanús, will look to make his mark in his home country.
A statement released by the club read, The Scouting Department of Club Talleres has closely followed Matías’ development, highlighting his versatility to occupy more than one position within the midfield.
In addition, due to his technical quality and agility, Esquivel is a player who can provide solutions to the team, generating danger in the final third of the field of play; Esquivel also has a good repertoire of dribbles, assists and execution of mid-distance shots.
Finally, the experience gained during his last two seasons has given the player the ability to mature in decision-making.””
