SuperSport United caretaker coach Andre Arendse says Aubrey Ngoma has impressed in his short stay with the club.
The 32-year-old former Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City player was without a club before joining Matsatsantsa on a short-term deal for the second half of the 2021/2022 DStv Premiership season.
SuperSport exercised the option of an additional year following Ngoma’s displays for the club as they ended the recently-completed campaign in eighth place.
Arendse said on KickOff: “I know the qualities he has.
“Yes, he was short of game-time before coming to us, but we knew that wouldn’t affect the quality he has.
“We just needed to help get him into shape, and he has done that and he has done well at training.”
Arendse added: “Aubrey, for me, has given me the ammunition to go and fight for him because I believe he is a great player and has added value in the games has played so far.
“I believe he can do the same next season which means we have a lot of time to spend with him in pre-season to get him in even better shape.”
