Andre Onana ruled out of AFCON opener

Andre Onana will not be available for Cameroon’s opening Africa Cup of Nations clash with Guinea on Monday.

The 27-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper had initially delayed his scheduled meet up with his national side to make himself available for his Premier League club’s FA Cup third round tie with Wigan on Monday.

But it has now been revealed that the former Ajax shotstopper is now set to be a part of the Red Devils team to take on Tottenham in the league on Sunday.

Onana will also miss Cameroon’s pre-AFCON training camp but should be available for selection against tournament holders Senegal.

Altay Bayindir is set to step up for his debut in Onana’s absence.
