Daniel Akpeyi says he is considering his options following his release from Kaizer Chiefs this week.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper was one of 10 players let go by Amakhosi at the end of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.
Akpeyi was deemed surplus to requirements having played just 12 times in the league.
Speaking to IOL, he said: “I’m professional in my job and now the job begins. As a goalkeeper, your peak starts from 30 up until the time you quit.
“The most important thing is to keep your body fit. That will carry you like how it carries [Gianluigi] Buffon and how it carried Iker Casillas.”
Akpeyi added: “I’m trying to keep myself fit for as long as possible to see how long I can go.
“Things are coming up and I’m in the process of making a decision on my future at the moment.”
