Orlando Pirates confirm Mandla Ncikazi’s departure amid links with Golden Arrows

Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, who will take up a head coaching role at another club in the Premier Soccer League.

The club said the move follows discussions between Ncikazi and management, during which the coach expressed his desire to pursue an opportunity to lead a team again.

Ncikazi has been heavily linked with Golden Arrows, who are reportedly close to parting ways with coach Pitso Dladla.

He leaves the Buccaneers following a successful spell in which he helped the club win nine trophies, serving predominantly as an assistant coach, including a brief stint as co-coach with Fadlu Davids in 2025.

Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza thanked Ncikazi for his contribution and acknowledged his ambition to return to a head coaching role.

“Mandla leaves with our gratitude and our blessing. His contribution to Orlando Pirates has been evident throughout his time with us. We respect his wish to pursue this new opportunity and wish him success as he takes on a new responsibility,” said Khoza.
