AmaZulu mentor Arthur Zwane is reportedly the leading candidate for the Bafana Bafana second assistant coach role ahead of the upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
The South African national team has undergone changes in the technical team following the departure of Belgian Hugo Broos after the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign in North America.
Newly appointed head coach Pitso Mosimane has already roped in Morena Ramoreboli as his first assistant, after the latter vacated his role as head coach of the Botswana national team and has now turned his attention to the Usuthu coach.
Zwane has performed admirably with a fairly young AmaZulu side, finishing fourth last season in the Betway Premiership table, a position they currently occupy in the current campaign.

He also gave minutes to youngsters during his stint as Kaizer Chiefs coach, with their current stars Mfundo Vilakazi, Mduduzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba being given their first taste of top-division football.
Bafana Bafana are expected to announce their final squad in preparation for the 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea later this month.
