The Tshwane giants will be facing the Saudi Pro League side for the first time after having qualified to compete in the new FIFA Intercontinental Cup format following the 2025/26 CAF Champions League triumph.
Al Ahli Saudi, which was once led by former Masandawana coach Pitso Mosimane, defeated New Zealand side Auckland FC 1-0 in their play-off fixture on Wednesday to set up the clash against the African champions.
The winner of next month’s title will move onto the FIFA Challenger Cup, which is next stage of the Intercontinental Cup where they will face either Concacaf champions Toluca or the eventual CONMEBOL Libertadores winners.

If Sundowns claim the Challenger Cup, they will qualify to face UEFA Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain for the FIFA Continental Cup title.
The Parisiens are the defending champions of the revamped competition, having defeated Brazilian outfit Flamengo on penalties last year.
