Venue Confirmed: Refurbished Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex Ready to Host 2026 Toyota Cup

The Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex has officially been confirmed as the venue for the 2026 Toyota Cup, following the successful completion of an extensive refurbishment programme.

 
 The upgraded facility is now fully prepared to welcome fans, players and officials for the highly anticipated match this weekend. 
 
The renovations have revitalised the iconic venue, ensuring that the stadium meets the highest standards for hosting major football events.
Improvements to key infrastructure, spectator areas and operational facilities have enhanced both the matchday experience and the overall functionality of the complex.
 
 
With all refurbishment work now complete, organisers have given the green light for the Toyota Cup to proceed at the venue, marking an important milestone ahead of the showcase fixture. The upgraded Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex is set to provide a world-class stage for what promises to be an exciting day of football and entertainment.
 
The last game to take place at the stadium was in 2023 was a CAF Confederation Cup where Marumo Gallants hosted Tanzanian giants Young Africans. The Royal Bafokeng Nation confirmed the news that the facility was better than ever ready to welcome new visitors.
 
“The Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN) is proud to announce that the refurbishment of the Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex has been completed, and the facility is once again ready to host world-class sport, recreation and community events,” the statement read.
 
“To preserve its legacy and ensure it continues to meet national and international standards, the facility has undergone extensive upgrades and remedial maintenance, including critical fire, emergency and safety system improvements.
 
“The reopening will be marked by the 2026 Toyota Cup on Sunday, 26 July 2026, when Kaizer Chiefs take on Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC in a thrilling pre-season fixture,” the RBN added.
 
Prior to the game, fans will be able to watch a curtain-raiser between Kaizer Chiefs Legends and the Jozi Masters. Kick off for the highly anticipated clash is set for 15h00.
