The 27-year-old joined Casric Stars in January 2026 but was unable to help the club secure promotion after they finished fourth in the league.

Thikazi now becomes the latest addition to the Citizens’ squad, joining a growing list of new signings that includes Thabang Monare, Parslie Fielies and Marcelo Suarez.

Cape Town City are determined to mount a stronger promotion challenge this season after narrowly missing out on an immediate return to the Betway Premiership.

The Citizens finished in second place in the MFC standings last season before suffering disappointment in the promotion playoffs, which were eventually won by Milford FC.

With several experienced additions arriving during the transfer window, City will be hoping Thikazi’s attacking qualities can play a key role in helping the club achieve promotion back to South Africa’s top flight.
