Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele has warned that his team may ‘spoil the party’ and beat Betway Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.
Amakhosi will be looking to consolidate their CAF Confederation Cup spot when they take on defending league champions at Loftus Versfeld, while also denting Sundowns’ title aspirations.
“If you look at recent history, they [Sundowns] have been the team that is dominating the league in terms of winning trophies,” said Cele to the Sowetan.

“We are also getting closer and closer [to competing for titles], so things are interesting for SA football at this moment.
“Of course, they want to clinch this title again, but we might spoil the party for them. We are also on our journey, so it’s a game we want to win.”
The Glamour Boys will also want to end a nine-match winless streak against Masandawana in the league, having last beaten the Tshwane giants during the 2020/21 season.
