The former Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City and SuperSport United coach was first reported to have left Babina Noko following a dip in form almost two weeks ago.
He wasn’t with the team as they lost 3-1 to Stellenbosch last weekend, as Paulus Masehe took charge of the team.
Sekhukhune occupied third place for much of the season but have struggled for results since the resumption of football after the Africa Cup of Nations break.
Losing to Stellies left the club in fifth place on the league standings – with 38 points from 25 games, eight points behind Kaizer Chiefs, in third.
Sekhukhune finally confirmed Tinkler’s departure on Thursday.
